ネット徘徊してましたら、BBCのサイトで「Which country is best seen by rail?」というのがありました。

とりあげられていたのは、インド、日本、スイス、南アフリカ、米国でした。日本の記述は次のようなものでした。

列車が定時運行であること、新幹線が便利であること、外国人向けのレイルパスを使うのをすすめています。あわせて、Googleマップに接続できるモバイル環境を用意したほうが良いだろうと…。およそ、こういったかんじでしょうか。

かな漢字のなかで生活している日本人にとっては普通の環境（あたりまえですけどね）なのですが、外国の人から見たら、ずいぶんと情報パニックになりそうだとも思います。そういうとき、現在地と目的地やその関係をリアルタイムに確認できるGoogleマップは心強いでしょうね。
